  • Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC compliance

    The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC is a mandatory requirements for all deliveries
    of pipes, fittings, flanges and other applicable components to the offshore marked.
    Unless otherwise stated in the individual order.

    Requirement for PED 97/23/EC compliance:
    (Ref. PED Annex 1 Section 4.3 / Guideline 7/2, 7/5, 7/16)

    1. ISO 9001:2000 certification is a mandatory requirement for all companies involved in the supply of materials, e.g. manufacturers, traders and stockists. The certification body shall be established within the European Community, as required by Annex I of PED 97/23/EC.

    2. PED 97/23/EC compliance certification is a mandatory requirement for all material manufacturers involved. This compliance shall be verified by either:

      • A separate PED certificate according to Annex I, section 4.3 of PED 97/23/EC.
      • An lSO 900 1/9002 certificate that specifies in the certificate actual production of material indicating relevant material types.

    The certification body shall be established within the European Community, as required by Annex I of PED 97/23/EC.

    3. Alternatively, material from material manufactures certifies to IS0 9001:2000 may be acceptable, provided the manufacturer complies with the requirements:

      • The ISO certificate shall be issued by a 3th party body accredited to EN45012, who shall be established within the Community (EC), as required by Annex I of PED.
      • The ISO certification number and the certification body shall be typed/ stamped on the 3.1 product certificate. Alternatively, the ISO certificate shall be enclosed to the 3.1 certificates at delivery.

    4. If the requirements mentioned above (point 1, 2 & 3) cannot be met, can you use a 3th parts certified company (DNV, TÜV etc.) who certified the products according to 3.1.2. This have to bee approved by the customer before the start of production.
